Black Rock Shooter is just Miku with different hair and clothing, like an alter ego or something. If I’m not mistaken, there will be a Black Rock Shooter anime in 2010.
Black Rock Shooter is NOT Miku… Black Rock Shooter is a fanmade character who was eventually recognized by Crypton and was used for a video of Miku’s then upcoming song called “BlackRock Shooter.”
So it’s pretty much a girl named Black Rock Shooter who has Miku’s voice. But it’s not Miku.

Hagane Miku?
Hagane Miku is a fanmade version of Hatsune Miku. She uses the same voice bank but is used in more creative ways to give her voice a metal feel. Some good examples would be Rain Stain and Sweet So Sweet. I forget who first came up with the idea of her and is quoted as the creator but he makes good music.
