Alright, I’ve got this cute picture of Kotobuki Tsumugi from the second season of K-ON and I decided to make a Rainmeter skin out of it. I’m really searching for another complete set of K-ON characters since I’m planning on making them a Rainmeter skin (It’s an encore skin, man). So, any additional help with the picture will be much appreciated. Thanks.
An old request from Farce90 (Sorry, for the delay, buddy) to make another Black Rock Shooter Rainmeter skin. I promise that I will find a better picture for the skin and I was determined to make the skin right. It took me a while searching for the best pic of Black Rock Shooter and I thought this was the best I can get. Hope, you enjoy it, guys!
I got to say that this anime wasn’t the first priority for me to watch this season. And to think I was going to watch Hakuoki instead of this one is just preposterous.
For you who love action anime with realistic theme in it, I recommend Giant Killing. A soccer theme anime which to me is just interesting to watch, given the the realistic theme in this anime. There is no such impossible burning shot or shot that pierce through the goal net. I’ll say it bluntly, this anime is no Captain Tsubasa nor Prince of Tennis, which makes this anime so special.
The quite exaggerating part of this anime probably the coach, Tatsumi, who formerly coached the Eastham and successfully bring the team to the FA cup. However, that exaggeration wasn’t an exaggeration since the team lost to a premiere league team. That background is necessary for Tatsumi to be considered as the next coach of East Tokyo United. Well, the story goes on and I can only suggest that you watch it yourself.
Anyway, the action where the actual soccer match begin is pretty realistic. You will only see Tatsumi brilliancy in handling the team with pretty much realistic soccer strategy. Anyway, I’ve been dreaming for an excellent sports theme anime after Slam Dunk and Hungry Heart, and this anime settles my thirst. A great sports anime with realistic yet entertaining plot.
It’s another Monday and I’ve got to prepare for Mid-semester report. So much to do this week and I’ve got a deadline until next Saturday to prepare for another game workshop. I’m tutoring MUGEN this time and boy do I have to prepare many things for the material. Anyway, here’s yours wallpaper for this week.
Alright, one post before I go to take my IELTS score (Damn, I’m nervous). It’s just another classic Rainmeter skin whom the character I don’t recognize. I take the picture out of a manga I think. Anyway, enjoy the skin as always. Good luck and have a nice weekend guys.
Holy crap, has it been awhile. Two weeks? Something like that. Sorry for the delay but I’ll be picking this back up again and making up for the lack of posts. I had a lot of crap I had to sort and get out of the way and make my life a whole lot more easy. But on to the good stuff.
Shoot the Bullet is the nine and-a-half(th) game in the Touhou and was meant to be a tie in to a print work called Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red, but that’s not important for now. Shoot the Bullet is probably the most unique danmaku game to come into existence, at least as far as I have seen. There is only one playable character in this game, Aya Shameimaru. She also doesn’t shoot at all. Instead the point of the game is to take photos of the bosses and their fantastic bullet patterns. Aya’s reasoning behind not shooting is that she “doesn’t want her bullets in the picture.” This puts a whole different twist on the game when it comes to just straight up dodge and shoot. Instead Aya has other techniques like film reloading and defensive shots that go above the typical games.
The gameplay itself is very unique. Aya has three different movement speeds and three different “shot” modes. For starters, Aya has a faster than average movement speed when in a standard non-focused mode. She also has a focus mode and a charge mode. Before Aya can do anything her camera must be charged to 100%. After that there are many different things that can be done. Aya can either take a picture of the boss or of enemies and bullets surrounding her to clear them out. Any picture that doesn’t include a boss is considered a failure and is discarded but will still grant point bonuses. In order to clear a stage a certain number of successful photos must be taken. The game also feature 10 stages and an extra stage and they all have multiple scenes that must be completed to unlock further stages.
This game also doesn’t really have a plot that I could find. Nobody knows the purpose of the pictures except for Aya. I personally suspect that she uses them in her popular Bunbunmaru Newspaper.
On a side note, all of the music from this game is fantastic.
It’s another Monday and as usual I’m not excited to work today. So, I thought I post something like Wallpaper of The Week on my blog. It’s K-ON!! and a little bit inquiry though, is just who is the girl with the purple hair on the leftmost picture? A new character perhaps?
Long week it has been this week. I’m broke and have to manage my expense carefully before buying something. It’s all thanks to the stupid IELTS test. 180 dollars for a piece of recognition paper that I could understand English actively. Just give me a 1 hour interview, you can judge how fluent my English is. Anyway, putting that issue aside, I’ve made another Rainmeter skin for you and this time is Remilia Scarlet. I’ve made her since I notice that I haven’t made any Rainmeter skin of her. So, I hope you enjoy this skin I’ve made. Cheers!
Settings: You need to configure remilia_LandscapeFrame.ini before getting the skin to display your pictures.First, change the “ImagePath” variable to the address/ directory which you want the skin to display your picture. Don’t forget to add a backslash (\) at the end of the directory (Example: C:\Pictures\).If you want the application to crawl the subfolders of the current directory, put the “Subfolders” variable value to “1″. Now, to set the length of time on changing between pictures, you need to set “Update” value (in terms of miliseconds).
Note: Installation and usage of this skin can be observed on the Rainmeter section. Happy downloading!
Sorry for the lack of posts lately but I’ve been busy and stressed out this last week or so. To make up for it, here’s a great song I found just the other day. I fell in love with it instantly, and I have to say that Miki might be my new favorite Vocaloid. Her voice is just so insanely captivating. I hope you all enjoy it and I’ll try to pick up on my posts again soon.
For the english lyrics to the song, enable the YouTube annotations.
A little while ago, literally less than an hour before making this post, I recorded a video of me playing a little bit of Perfect Cherry Blossom. I was hoping to make a full gameplay set of videos for Youtube and I thought I’d take the liberty of posting on here both for entertainment and for feedback purposes. First and foremost, I need to know if the framerate is acceptable or not, as I am neutral to it. It’s better than most but worse than most too so I need some verification. Feedback is much appreciated. And just a fair warning, I do swear quite frequently. I hope you all enjoy and check out my Youtube page for more gameplay videos if you’re interested. My username is Farce13. The audio level on this video is pretty low, thanks to my horrible mic, so you might want to turn your sound up for this.
The picture on the left here is not the Singapore landmark statue. However, it is an exact replication of the original statue which situated in Citraland, Surabaya. I personally have no problem with this statue erected in Indonesia since it’s just the same as making a replica of Paris Tower in the United States.
However, I’m appalled by the lack of response that those overzealous people who accused Malaysia as a culture stealer. How about this guys? Isn’t this worse since you blatantly steal tangible product from other country’s landmark?
I remember when the news about the Obama Statue erection in Menteng park that got overly reacted by the people who deemed this would be an insult to the nation’s dignity. What about now? Where are these so-called nation pride guardian?
It’s just ludicrous that when it comes other people who steal from us, we got so angry and blindly accuse all the blames on one country. However, we don’t want to apologize if we are stealing from other people. Well, I guess I made my point clear as to how shameful this is.
A strong voice for this song and ridiculously it’s from a girl singer. Meet Fuyumi Sakamoto, a singer whose main music is based on old japanese music instruments. However, this music brilliantly fuse the element of modern and old all together. You can feel a samurai ambiance as well as rock & roll together in this song. A plus point is that she wears kimono which make the ambiance ever more fitting. Forget that she is your typical obaa-san, this woman can sing hard and strong.
Her voice is just fit in to the music and makes my feet tapping all over the place. It’s hard to believe that a woman can have such a strong voice (now this is a true Yamato Nadeshiko).
Anyway, too bad that I can’t find the lyric to this song. However, not to be worry that I found the live performance in a youtube clip. I recommend that you guys watch and listen to this awesome song. It makes my heart race every time the chorus and the flute come to play synchronously.
Continuing the previous skin, I thought I might go for another Vocaloid themed wallpaper for this week. Yep, it’s Hatsune Miku, guys. I just watched the first episode of Giant Killing the other day and was thrilled by the story. It’s a soccer themed anime and thank god it’s not like Captain Tsubasa nor Prince of Tennis. The only ridiculous plot of this anime is that the coach of the soccer club is a Japanese who previously succeeded in making East Ham on the top 32 in FA cup. At least, it’s not to shabby and his background is necessary for story development. Anyway, I’ll review it some more if I’m sure that the story is quite intriguing.
I got to say that this is the largest skin I’ve ever made in terms of memory consumption. A lot of animation is used although it is still inferior compared to the original one in flash. It’s also hard to convert from flash to Rainmeter skin. There still minor bug in this skin that some of the features have to be dropped. However, it still preserves its main function in responding to mp3 song play and clicking on the clock to know what time it is (In Miku’s voice). I’ll state the bug in the skin description (Hopefully, you guys can give the solution to the problem since I got a dead end on this skin). Anyway, here’s the best thing I can do for now. I hope it’s enough for at least to be on your desktop. Thanks.
Bugs: When the music plays, Miku will show her startle face. However, the animation is random because of the counter doesn’t reset to 1 (So you can get her full startle face animation, but sometime it’s just the middle or nothing at all). Sound file played in parallel, to mitigate this I added a delay by using counter variable. However, the delay varies since the counter doesn’t reset to 1.
Note:
- Installation and usage of this skin can be observed on the Rainmeter section. To maximize the skin performance you have to install Rainmeter 1.2 Happy downloading!
- For those who are having a problem in Miku’s disappearing when playing your Winamp (speaker_ftd, killer.exe, Sammy, Timberwolf357, kiyoshi onii-chan, miauww case) please download the skin’s 1.3 version (There is another link below the original download link) and this applies to those who has Rainmeter 1.3 or above.
I just now found out today just how hard these games really are. I downloaded Perfect Cherry Blossom and couldn’t even complete easy mode. I got really close though. Yuyuko ended up killing me but Youmu took off all but one of my lives. Freaking Youmu… Fun games though. I’ll have to try again tomorrow. Also, the Prismriver Sister are really really hard.
But anyway, today is Touhou 9: Phantasmagoria of Flower View. And I noticed a strange thing about the title theme for all of the danmaku games. They all share the same title theme, just slightly remixed. And all the music is much better when in game as it embodies the mood of the game itself.
Phantasmagoria of Flower View is really annoying to type out so I’ll be abbreviating it from here in. PoFV is different than the other Touhou games in that it is a VS style game where two equally matched opponents try to shoot each other to death. It resembles Phantasmagoria of Dim. Dream the most of the other Touhou games.
The plot behind this game reminds me of Perfect Cherry Blossom, mostly because it’s the exact opposite of it. This spring there are an unusually large number of flowers and fairies roaming about. The player can choose from 16 characters and must battle their way through 9 very difficult stages. I say this from first hand experience. These games are HARD!
Reimu Hakurei was alarmed when she noticed the flowers everywhere and quickly went out looking for answers, thinking that not only was it her duty but that if she didn’t people might think she was neglectful. Marisa Kirisame on the other hand noticed the oddness of the out of season flowers, but didn’t seem to think too deeply into it at first. Instead she sets out to find who’s behind it all simply because she wants to and, more importantly, so she can be the first to find out what’s happening. Sakuya Izayoi also began searching for answers, but again more out of curiosity than from any sense of danger. Youmu Konpaku looked for answers while admiring the scenery, but without any clue where to start all she could do was wander as well. What she did notice were the ghosts hanging around the flowers, which most of the other heroines paid no attention to. Reisen Udongein Inaba didn’t sense any need to be worried about the flowers, but checked them out anyways. While she was at it she also looked for Tewi Inaba who had left without saying anything. Tewi was so excited about the flowers everywhere that she just forgot to say where she was going. Cirno at first appeared to be, basically, an idiot, but at closer look she actually realized not only that there was something strange about the flowers early on but also that a similar event happened 60 years ago before anyone else figured that part out (even characters that had been around 60 years ago). Maybe that has something to do with being a fairy, since all the fairies were becoming more active because of the flowers. She just doesn’t seem to care about why it’s happening, and instead chose to enjoy herself while she can between bumping into the other heroines. The only thing Lyrica Prismriver is interested in is finding a good place for a solo performance and to find new sounds to use. Poor Lyrica just keeps bumping into weird people while looking for a place to play until she gets more and more lost. Like Lyrica, Mystia Lorelei just wants to make music during the whole event, literally singing her way into every encounter. This time even Cirno makes Mystia look a bit “slow” in their encounter. Aya Shameimaru knows a big scoop when she sees one. With all the flowers blooming at once she was sure there’d be something newsworthy around, but what was even more interesting were all the ghosts showing up. Everyone was so focused on the flowers that hardly anyone even noticed those ghosts at first. Yuka Kazami, being a Youkai that’s been around for a long time, knew exactly what was happening when this incident started. Of course being the youkai of flowers helped too, but unfortunately that also put her straight at the top of everyone’s suspect list when they found her enjoying the flowers. Meanwhile Medicine Melancholy had no interest in finding out what was happening, but rather used this opportunity to defeat whoever she came across with poisonous flowers.
It didn’t take long before the heroines ran into each other one after another. Each of them demanded answers from the others about what was going on, but few had any real information. Finally we got to Komachi Onozuka who, as it turned out, is the primary cause for the event. Of course it’s not like any of the heroines knew it, they just wandered anywhere they saw flowers blooming until they reached the Higanbana field where Komachi was. It seemed that Komachi was such a slacker that everyone in Gensokyo noticed the flowers except her. The flowers were being possessed by ghosts which were waiting to cross over to Higan and it was Komachi’s job to get them there, a job she had neglected. 60 years ago (1945, the end of World War II) there had been another flower incident like this because of the sudden large number of ghosts needing to be ferried across to Higan. It can be assumed Komachi was slacking back then too.
After a brief battle with her, Sikieiki Yamaxanadu (the judge of the dead and Komachi’s boss) showed up to give Komachi a scolding for slacking so much. However, before the heroine could leave, Sikieiki saw a perfect opportunity to lecture her on whatever various faults each heroine has, which somehow turned into a danmaku battle to prove the point.
Long post is loooong. Tomorrow will be Touhou 9.5: Shoot the Bullet, which features some of my most absolute favorite music. And hopefully I’ll be able to beat Perfect Cherry Blossom. Marisa Kirisame for the win.
