Beat of The Day: Visual Dream by SNSD (Robotaki Remix)

16 04 2011

This song was played in my roommate’s bedroom the other night and I thought it was refreshing enough. The brilliant idea of Robotaki remix is that the song doesn’t lose its original color, but he enhance the color to a different level. Check out the video to know what I’m talking about and compare it with the original one (Note: S.M Entertainment blocks this video to be played, so click the Youtube icon to watch it on Youtube instead)

Steins;Gate (First Look)

16 04 2011

The story of Steins;Gate takes place in Akihabara and is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN who has been doing their own research on time travel tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.

The story of Steins;Gate begins on July 28, 2010, in Akihabara, with Rintarō Okabe and Mayuri Shiina heading towards the Radio Kaikan building. Inside the building, Rintarō finds the body of Kurisu Makise with a pool of blood in a room. He leaves the building with Mayuri in a panic and sends a text message to Hashida Itaru about the incident when all the people around him suddenly vanish. They reappear moments later but no one around him seems to have experienced the same phenomena that he did.

Originially a Visual Novel created by the Nitro+, Steins;gate has been praised for it’s intertwining storyline. It has received many console ports since it’s originally PC release. It has been re-released for the XBOX 360 and planned to be released for the PSP. FYI, This is a Direct Sequel to Chaos;Head even though there’s no direct connection between those 2 stories.

Steins;gate is one of the complex anime that is aired in this season, the main topic within this anime is “Time Travel”, so occasionally, viewers needs to put on their “thinking caps” while watching this anime, since it involves many time travel scenarios and plot twist. Having played the VN first hand, the anime adaptation is showing good signs that it will keep the same Quality with the VN. So basically, another “MUST WATCH” anime for this season.

Hanasaku Iroha (First Look)

16 04 2011

Hanasaku Iroha centers around Ohana Matsumae, a 16-year-old teenager living in Tokyo, who is left in the care of her estranged grandmother, following her mother’s elopement with her boyfriend. Ohana arrives at her grandmother’s country estate to realize she is the owner of a Taishō period hot spring inn called, Kissuisō. She begins working at Kissuisō, at her grandmother’s request, but finds herself at ends with many employees and customers at the inn. Initially feeling discouraged, she decides to use her circumstances as an opportunity to change herself for the better and to make amends with her deteriorating relationship with the Kissuisō staff for a more prominent future.

Now this is the “other” Slice of Life Drama anime that I said before that also has potential. Now on it’s 2nd episode, HanaIro, starts out laid-back, nothing worry about theme, until later on “Reality” slaps you hard in the face when Ohana learns that life isn’t what she imagined it to be. One of the good Drama animes this season, this is also a must watch. I can see this easily made into a J-Drama sometime.
