Just watched Fate/Zero and…

2 10 2011

It was fucking awesome.

The animation quality was awesome, good job Ufotable.

The story is a complete “copy paste” from the original novel, so there aren’t many omitted scenes, and the music is just awesome.

This 1st episode is simulcasted worldwide, and the episode is 40 minutes long.

Just a reminder that this episode is full of dialogues since the holy grail war haven’t started yet.

You can watch the simulcast here, or wait for the fan subs.

ONE OK ROCK

24 09 2011

Say hello to my newest favorite band, ONE OK ROCK. ONE OK ROCK, is a Japanese Rock Band that was formed in 2005. It consists of 4 Members : Vocals by Taka, Vocals and Guitar by Toru, Bass by Ryota, and Drums by Tomoya. It originally has 5 members, but Alex who plays the guitar had to leave the band.

History

The foundation for One Ok Rock began when Toru Yamashita, then a high school student, wanted to start a band. Toru told his friend Ryota Kohama, who had been a fellow member of hip hop dance group, Heads, to learn the Bass and asked Alex to join. After seeing Taka, a vocalist, perform in a cover band, Toru saw him as the best possible candidate for a vocalist in their band, and insisted that he join. Tomoya, the last member to join, joined One Ok Rock as a drummer in 2007. Tomoya had played with the band on all their albums but only became an official member when they debuted.

The band’s name, One Ok Rock, came from “one o’clock,” the time that the band used to practice on weekends. However, noticing that the Japanese language made no distinction between r’s and l’s, they changed “o’clock” to “o’crock” (or “o’krock”) which then was separated to become “ok rock”. (Taken from Wikipedia)

Honestly, I got attached to them after hearing No Scared when I was playing Black Rock Shooter the Game. After that it’s history, I kept on downloading their songs.

Beat of the Day: Sky Clad no Kansokusha

7 09 2011

So, I just finished watching Steins;Gate Episode 23, and found out that this song was the new Ending song for the anime. Sky Clad no Kansokusha (Sky Clad Observer), sung by Kanako Itou is Steins;Gate original game Opening from the XBOX 360 version. This song is mainly about “man” is just an observer in the timeline that god created. But man then tampered with time out of curiosity resulting in a paradox.”

This song represents how the story of Steins;Gate started, and since I’ve already played the original VN, I was so hyped hearing this as the ending song for episode 23 and literally cried with overflowing emotions.  Now I must share this feeling. Just one episode left btw.

XD

So, here’s the whole song with lyrics.

The past retreats, but does the future come any closer?
The observer will one day wake to the paradox

The world God created is complete and in perfect equilibrium
Brought about by coincidence folded unto coincidence, a miracle the scale of the universe
“Limits” on the gate protected up until now, are ended

Open The Eyes -
“Zero” is the past, “One” is the future, “the present” is nowhere to be found

Even the concept of time told by two hands of a clock
Distorts depending on the observer

Our intelligence granted by God, surely has an end and absolute domain
Out of coincidence brought on by stupidity, an unwelcome miracle
“Limits” on the gate locked up until now, are ended

Open the Eyes -
Reaching out to the speed of light, the pulse of memories
Soars into an unfathomable logic
Open the Eyes -
A theory without rhyme or reason still kept secret by the universe
Each point and point we call infinity, utilizes impossible power and

In logic you cannot defy

Doubting even our “existence” in your eyes this time-scape

Game Nostalgia: Rakugaki Showtime

3 08 2011

My 2nd entry about games that I’ve played in my early this time, I’m going talk about Rakugaki Showtime.

Rakugaki Showtime

Rakugaki Showtime is Battle Arena Type of game by Treasure and Enix made for the Playstation(PSX).  The game is all about defeating opponents  by throwing stuff at them or just pummel them to death.  A Mixture of Dodge-ball with Super Smash brothers.

Story

One day, God Hand, the hand of creation decides to make 4 new characters into her world.  Yukiwo, the zealous and cool protagonist. Sasami, the female member and skilled in Kung-fu. Pitan, A cute mischievous monk, who speaks in Kansai accent and Tsubohachi, your stereotype Japanese Drunkard. These 4 new heroes will fight their way against God Hands other creation and in the end try to beat their own creator. A simple but satisfying story, filled with comedic characters and their silly antics.

Game Intro

Gameplay

The game’s actually pretty simple. Run around the square ring, picking up things to throw at your enemies (including other enemies) before they throw them at you. Things include grenades, rockets, boulders, ICBMs, black hole-bombs, and the Smiley Ball. Everything has a different effect when thrown at an enemy (and there are three different ways to throw each thing: normal, fast-ball, and lob), and the smileys get steadily angrier the more you hit enemies with them, until they eventually turn into “Super Smiley Balls” and allow you to pull of a super move. Fortunately, you’ll never run out of things to throw, because God Hand is constantly flying around the ring, drawing more things as fast as you can throw them. You’ll be fighting against silly and bizarre characters including space-dogs who summon UFOs, cute little girls who turn into big ugly women, a kung-fu hawk, a tiny guy with a big sword, and the ubiquitous big purple boss with a red cape.

Gameplay Video

Overall Summary

This is a truly refreshing and simple fighting game, if you like quirky fighting game with unique graphics and characters and simply just want to enjoy yourself, than you need to play this game at least once in your life time. You can buy this game from PSN Japan for just 600 Yen, or if you want a hard copy, you might find some in eBay, FYI this game is SUPER RARE.

Trivia

-The Rarity of this game is caused by “a mysterious lawsuit that forced most copies of Rakugaki Showtime to be recalled”.

-And Yes, That’s Marina from Nintendo 64 game “Mischief Makers”

Game Nostalgia: Psychic Force

24 07 2011

I’m going to start a new corner for TRT and going to call it Game Nostalgia. It’s basically going to be about old games that I have encountered in my early life and try to shed some light to them and this will be only limited to the games that I have played. Other Authors may join in the fun if they have some games that they want to show off in TRT. So here goes the 1st one.

Psychic Force

It is the year 2010, and the world is in chaos, particularly for Psychiccers. Humans see them as a threat and go all out to terminate them.  In order to protect themselves, Keith Evans, with the help of Richard Wong, formed a Psychiccer fortress/group called Noa.  With Noa, Psychiccers are rescued from their torturous lives under humans, but at the same time, they start to present themselves as an obvious threat. By forming Noa, they are sending themselves to a war against humans.

Keith wanted to build a Psychiccer Utopia – a world where Psychiccers are safe from all humans, and if needed, are able to defend themselves against humans.  He strongly believes that due to the empathic abilities of Psychiccers (Psychiccers can read/feel another Psychiccer’s mind), Humans can never live in harmony with Psychiccers.
Burn, who have helped Keith in the past and one of his friend, thinks it is a foolish dream -  a Psychiccer Utopia does not exist; true peace only exist if Psychiccers and Humans are able to co-exist.  The forming of Noa to him, is a declaration of war against Humans, thus will lead to much bloodshed between both parties.  With this belief that war is bad, Burn, with his awakened psychic ability – Flame, will ‘cleanse’ the world.

In the final battle at NOA HQ, Burn battles Keith to determine the fate of humans and Psychiccers , but their battle is interrupted by Wong betraying Keith and triggering the self-destruct for the NOA HQ. Keith traps Burn in a cocoon of ice, leaving him as the only survivor.

Psychic Force 2

In year 2012, Keith who also survived rebuilds NOA as Neo NOA and keeps on trying to fulfill his previous goal to build peaceful world for united Psychics. Richard Wong creates his own Army of Psychics to destroy Neo Noa and humans alike. There is also a “Third Force” of Psychics who seek their friends and family, or hunt down members of Neo Noa and Army to find the truth.

To complicate the battle between factions, Might a Psychiccer Hunter was sent from the future and his objective is to kill all Psychiccers. It was then revealed that future Wong sent him back to 2012 with that objective.

Each character has their own unique story and destiny that revolves around the fight between Neo NOA and The Army.

Wendy who fights to get her friend Emilio back from the influence of The Army, Patty who fights to search clues for her lost mother and Genshin the oldest psychiccer alive who fights to save Shiori from the clutches of Richard Wong, and in the midst of battle Burn awakes from his cold slumber.

Gameplay

Psychic Force is a fighting game where both fighters fight in a cube and player can control them in to every direction. The Fighters float in mid-air and fights with their own special psychic powers. Well, it’s better to see it yourself.

Overall Summary

Psychic Force is a unique fighting game unlike any other fighting game, and it’s supported by the characters and their own story. The story plot can really jerk the heart with the development of the characters, especially when you find out Might’s true identity. For an old game it’s a solid game and if you have time please play it.

Yeah Hour, Since this post will probably replaced by another song post in less than a day. lol

So, here’s Hyadain no Kakakata Kataomoi-C by Hyadain, The OP song for a new anime this season called Nichijou.

Short anime review, Nichijou  is about telling the story of everyday life of their chracters, but the twist is, in our eyes “their dailylife” isn’t considered daily to us. If you like Azumanga Daioh, or other crazy comedy anime, this is a must watch.

Mitsumi Misato Illustration Pack Part 2

21 04 2011

So, here’s the rest of the Illustration, but there’s more to come. XD

Just keep your HDD empty, there’s a TON of those pics. from Mitsumi Misato, and the other 3 I mentioned in my previous post. :D

Mitsumi Misato Illustration Pack Part 1

20 04 2011

Mitsumi Misato is one of my favorite Illustrators. She’s responsible for many Visual Novels, like Pia Carrot. To Heart 2, Utawarerumono. Now here’s a gallery from her “1998-2005 Leaf Illustrations MISATO MITSUMI EDITION”

So, there you have it, and there’s lot more where that came from and this isn’t half of it. I’m also going to post illustrations by Amaduyu Tatsuki, Nakamura Takeshi and Kawata Hisashi. All of them are Illustrators from Visual Novel Company LEAF.

Steins;Gate (First Look)

16 04 2011

The story of Steins;Gate takes place in Akihabara and is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN who has been doing their own research on time travel tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.

The story of Steins;Gate begins on July 28, 2010, in Akihabara, with Rintarō Okabe and Mayuri Shiina heading towards the Radio Kaikan building. Inside the building, Rintarō finds the body of Kurisu Makise with a pool of blood in a room. He leaves the building with Mayuri in a panic and sends a text message to Hashida Itaru about the incident when all the people around him suddenly vanish. They reappear moments later but no one around him seems to have experienced the same phenomena that he did.

Originially a Visual Novel created by the Nitro+, Steins;gate has been praised for it’s intertwining storyline. It has received many console ports since it’s originally PC release. It has been re-released for the XBOX 360 and planned to be released for the PSP. FYI, This is a Direct Sequel to Chaos;Head even though there’s no direct connection between those 2 stories.

Steins;gate is one of the complex anime that is aired in this season, the main topic within this anime is “Time Travel”, so occasionally, viewers needs to put on their “thinking caps” while watching this anime, since it involves many time travel scenarios and plot twist. Having played the VN first hand, the anime adaptation is showing good signs that it will keep the same Quality with the VN. So basically, another “MUST WATCH” anime for this season.

“Hacking to the Gate” by Kanako Itou

Hanasaku Iroha (First Look)

16 04 2011

Hanasaku Iroha centers around Ohana Matsumae, a 16-year-old teenager living in Tokyo, who is left in the care of her estranged grandmother, following her mother’s elopement with her boyfriend. Ohana arrives at her grandmother’s country estate to realize she is the owner of a Taishō period hot spring inn called, Kissuisō. She begins working at Kissuisō, at her grandmother’s request, but finds herself at ends with many employees and customers at the inn. Initially feeling discouraged, she decides to use her circumstances as an opportunity to change herself for the better and to make amends with her deteriorating relationship with the Kissuisō staff for a more prominent future.

Now this is the “other” Slice of Life Drama anime that I said before that also has potential. Now on it’s 2nd episode, HanaIro, starts out laid-back, nothing worry about theme, until later on “Reality” slaps you hard in the face when Ohana learns that life isn’t what she imagined it to be. One of the good Drama animes this season, this is also a must watch. I can see this easily made into a J-Drama sometime.

——————————————

“Hana no Iro (ハナノイロ)” by nano.RIPE

Tiger & Bunny (First Look)

15 04 2011

Sternbild City is home to people called “Next,” who use their special abilities to protect the people as superheroes. These heroes solve cases and save lives so they can wear sponsor logos or acquire “hero points.” Their activities are documented on the popular program “Hero TV,” which picks the “King of Heroes” in a yearly ranking. The veteran hero Wild Tiger has always preferred to work alone, but now he’s been assigned the rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr., who has a different perspective on being a superhero.

In this anime Heroes are Commodities, and companies owns them for the sake of earning profit. This really contradicts with the old Superhero archetype. But this is what makes this show interesting. Despite being stuffed with Product Placement advertising by “Real” Companies, but that only shows how Superheroes “work” in this anime.

It’s now on it’s 2nd episode ,reliving the old Saturday Morning Cartoon feel with a twists. Sunrise really has made a potential gem with this anime. and I can’t wait to see all the “Heroes” work things out together . They’re actually starting to make good Non-mecha animes.

Don’t be fooled by the title. XD

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control (First Look)

15 04 2011

The Japanese government was rescued from the brink of financial collapse by the Sovereign Wealth Fund. For its citizens, however, life has not improved, and unemployment, crime, suicide, and despair are rampant. Kimimaro, raised by his maternal grandmother after the disappearance of his father and the death of his mother, is a scholarship student whose only dream is to avoid all this and live a stable life. One day, however, he meets a man who offers him a large sum of money if he’ll agree to pay it back. From then on his fate is radically altered as he’s drawn into a mysterious area known as “The Financial District.” (MAL)

One of the newest anime this season. [C], will bring a complex story, while giving you some battle-esque scenes showing the fight over money in the “Financial District”. so far so good, this is one of the the more Good complex anime this season. Definitely an anime for those who likes to think a bit. One of the animes that I’m following know.

———————————

“Matoryoshika” by NICO Touches the Walls

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (First Look)

15 04 2011

Six childhood friends grew apart in high school. One of them is Jintan, now a shut-in. He gets a request to fulfill a wish for Menma, the only one of their friends to have stayed the same over the years. In order to grant her wish, he will have to find and reunite their old friends. But he will first have to face problems of their distancing friendship between the six of them, because the promise is something that can only be fulfilled if all the estranged friends are brought together again.

So, another new Slice of Life, Drama anime is here. AnoHana starts out kinda depressing, but it has potential as a touching anime. My heart was touched at the ending of the first episode when they played “secret base ~Kimi ga Kureta Mono~” (10 Years after Ver). If you watched “Kyou no Go no ni”, you’ll notice it’s the same song.

This season really have some good Drama anime, the other one is Hanasaku Iroha. This one really tries to touch your “nostalgic nerve”, with it’s Childhood Friends theme and unfulfilled promises. I’m definitely gonna keep on following this one.
