Living in Japan!

2 04 2012

Hey guys!

Sorry again for the lack of postage, this time I’ve actually been busy in Japan. I mean it! Haha. I’ve been here since March 27th. I know a lot of people have asked me to update about how I’m doing here/ what I’m doing here etc, but the truth is that I already have a couple mediums for doing that already, including a full blog about it.

If you’re interested in seeing what I’ve been up to in Japan you can find my blog here:

http://www.tokyodriftorbust.wordpress.com

I’ve only posted about 6 or 7 posts so far (but beware! Not for the tl;dr crowd but I promise it’s interesting! Also PICTURES ^^) so it’s easy to start reading from the beginning.

In the meantime I’ll post some photos here showing a summary of my life in Japan so far.

Thanks loyal readers of TRT.

Until next time!

-Misu

Remembering March 11th, 2011

11 03 2012

Today marks the anniversary for the 2011 March 11th earthquake and tsunami that ravaged Japan exactly year ago. It was this same natural disaster that sparked the nuclear crisis that still continues to affect our world today. On this day more than 20,000 people living in Japan were killed. The resulting nuclear meltdown rekindled concerns not pondered since the days of Chernobyl.

It will take time for Japan to recover, as the areas around the Fukushima power plant will remain uninhabitable for centuries to come.  Still, many countries have started to rework their nuclear safety policies as a result of the tragedy.

In the coming years Japan may even become the innovators for new, clean energy in a world still relying on nuclear energy.

Please keep Japan in your thoughts today.

Sorry for my sporadic updating everyone,

I myself am getting ready to leave for Japan on the 26th of this month, so trying to get a visa and all that red tape has become quite difficult as a result of all of this. I hope all the authors as well as the readers are doing well. I’ll try updating as much as possible in the coming months!

-Misu

Also, if anyone’s interested in more before and after photos of the tsunami, they can be found here:

Wallpaper of the week: Madoka

7 12 2011

Hello!

Just a quick update with a neat wallpaper I came across. Finals week starts next week and I’ve been procrastinating waaaay too much. One of my friends gave me skyrim but I haven’t installed it because I know I’ll fail all my exams if I do, haha. So that’ll have to wait for break. Other than that I’ve been playing too much league of legends, but that’s not new either. Do any of you play? Add me if you do, I’m EnjoyChoy.

Anyway, hope you all like the wallpaper. And good luck on finals, if any of you are in the same boat!

Until next time,

-Misu

Toyota’s Hatsune Miku Flash Mob

13 11 2011

Heya!

I don’t like Sundays much, do you? It means monday is just around the corner. My oh my where did my weekend go. Anyway, a lot of you have probably seen this but I wanted to link it here anyway.

Flash mobs are so much fun! My dorm last year did a zombie flash mob to MJ’s “Thriller” all around campus last year for halloween. Well, that’s all for now.

Try and survive the week everyone!

Until next time,

-Misu

Sorry I haven’t been around!

9 11 2011

Hey guys.

A lot of the new readers and authors probably have no idea who I am, with good reason! I haven’t made a post here since May!

I know everyone won’t be satisfied with the “busy” excuse but unfortunately that’s been the case. I’m in three organic chemistry classes at once, along with two research biology courses and two linear algebra classes. I had my computer cut off of the internet since late summer until now!

Still, I had the chance to check up on this blog every few weeks via computer labs on campus. It’s nice to see that Kaza-san is still active, and that Lucy still shares profound views on world religion (not to mention the slew of cool videos and wallpapers you guys always post!).

As for a life update, my semester’s winding down for the fall. Remember that post a while back about my interest in studying abroad in Japan? I actually am! It took 12 scholarship acceptances, but I’m leaving for a university-paid semester in Tokyo this coming March!

I could not be more excited.

I should probably post something too, huh?

Well I probably mentioned it a while back in my introductory posts but I LOVE coldplay. They released a new album not too long ago. It’s helped me keep sane during this very busy semester!

To Kaza and the other original authors, sorry I’ve been away!

To the newer authors and readers, I hope we become good friends!

-Misu

Eden of the East Ending HD

9 05 2011

Hello!

Another scarce update, sorry, i’m in the middle of finals week. The good news is that my summer break begins next Saturday! I have to continue working on my study abroad application though..

Anyway, here’s the ending video to an anime series that was recommended to me (Eden of the East). The video is extremely creative, I can’t stop watching it.

Until next time!

Beat of the Day: Lights (Eyes Dubstep Remix)- Ellie Goulding

24 04 2011

Hey!

Sorry I haven’t updated in a while, I haven’t been able to peel away from exam-work until now, but I get a nice little break for the coming week.

Happy Easter to everyone, I was up pretty early today e_e.

Anyway, sorry to those of you who don’t enjoy dubstep, i’m not sure if I like listening to it seriously or as a joke yet. Either way I like this song!

(1:05 is where it gets interesting for you dubstep fans).

Hope all our authors and readers have a nice holiday.

Until next time!

Japan nuke workers ‘have committed themselves to die if necessary’

2 04 2011

http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookout/20110401/ts_yblog_thelookout/japan-nuke-workers-have-committed-themselves-to-die-if-necessary

I thought I’d share this news article here. Many people around me have forgotten all about Japan already. I personally think that’s ignorant, not only because it’s still a major tragedy, but because Japan’s situation has the potential to affect the United States as well, as many of Japan’s exports comes to this country.

Still, the strength and collectedness that the people of Japan possess never ceases to amaze me.

Sorry that this post is a bit of a downer.

Until next time.

Never Knows Best-A FLCL AMV

29 03 2011

Hello!

Sorry I haven’t posted in so long, I didn’t really have a stable internet connection at home over break, but I’m back at my University at the moment. Welcome to our new authors! Hopefully we’ll get to know eachother better soon. In other news, I still send my support to Japan, as the reactors have not fully cooled yet. I hope this will be over soon.

On a lighter note, I found this AMV the other day. I enjoy FLCL and absolutely adore the band the song is from.

Metric- Soft Rock Star

Until next time!

Beat of the Day: Aruarian Dance, Also Alice!

15 03 2011

I swear I’ll stop posting music! It’s been hectic here, after this week i’m finally on spring break. Anyone have any big plans? (Although my school has a pretty late break, haha). Anyway, this song is for the people of Japan, who are still struggling. I wish for everyone’s good health, I know Japan will rise from this tragedy.

I had a couple more things I wanted to post, like the Dead Island trailer (which I’m super excited for!) But to avoid clutter, I’ll just post the newest Alice: Madness Returns trailer.

I’m obsessed with anything Alice-related (except for Disney’s crappy live-action movie, sorry, it was pretty bad).

Anyway, this game drops in June, anyone else REALLY excited? :D

Until next time!

Beat of the day: The Fragrance of Dark Coffee

3 03 2011

Yo! I’ve been swamped with tests and work at my university, but spring break is only two weeks away! Not that i’m doing anything big, haha. Anyway, good luck to everyone/anyone who has exams in the following weeks.

I thought i’d share this with ya’:

It’s from the jazz album they made for one of the Phoenix Wright games. The original theme was already awesome, so this is just godly. But then again it might just be because I love jazz, it lifts you to a better place no matter what your current mood.

Anyway, enjoy!

Sword Dance and Shadowgraph

20 02 2011

Recovering from a pretty crazy weekend, I thought i’d post something for you guys! It’s been pretty warm and rainy here for the past couple days, I can’t decide if I like that more than icy yet. Anyway, the synchronicity in this video is pretty insane. Hope you guys enjoy it:

Kuroshio Sea

13 02 2011

Happy Saturday everyone :D. A bulk of my exams are done so it’s been nice just relaxing for a bit, although I still need to finish a ton of online work and applications this weekend.  The new bayside album leaked today too! I’ve been listening to it on repeat, haha. Anyway, I stumbled across this video again and I thought i’d share it with you guys. It’s a professional video taken of the Kuroshio Sea, the world’s second largest aquarium tank located in Okinawa’s Churaumi Aquarium. This video is excellent for calming your mind. I hope someday I can see this in person.

Enjoy!

Hello!

10 02 2011

Hiya. I wanna thank the previous authors that have already welcomed me, especially Souza who let me join. ^^ My name’s Christian, I joined TRT a few days ago. Unfortunately i’m not so tech-savvy so I won’t be creating rainmeters or things like that (although I’m using a blue-themed persona 3 google chrome theme that I threw together, perhaps I’ll post that if people request it). I have a post under the author tab if you want to know a bit more about me. I hope to post often even though i’m swamped with work between both my MCB and chem classes, my schedule this semester is kinda rough. Well, that’s all for now, I leave you with this nifty video tour of Tokyo. Here’s hoping you enjoy my posts! I look forward to meeting the other authors as well.

(I’m studying abroad in Tokyo for six months in Spring 2012 ^o^)
