Irony At Its Best — “Menculik Miyabi” Film Got Broadcasted

14 05 2010

If you are confused what I’m talking about irony, you can refer to reading the first entry of this particular issue at:

MUI Protest Over Maria Ozawa’s Film Deal in Indonesia — A Prejudical & Hypocrite Perception of a Religious Frontier

Yes, people! Irony is at its best here and it seems that the Islamic frontier who had protested up to their guts to reject Maria Ozawa arrival in Indonesia stood mute and letting her to star the most controversial upcoming movie “Menculik Miyabi”.

This crappy film which only sell its virtue by depicting the ever popular Japanese Adult Video star, Maria Ozawa, has now broadcasted at a large number of cinemas especially in Jakarta.

Well, either the director was smart enough to hide the shooting area or the over-zealous protesters were fast asleep during the production of the film, it shows you how fragile the protest was. It was merely a bluff to rise the tension up in the nation and instill fear to those who doesn’t agree with them.

I laugh out loud at this irony and anything you will do to boycott this film is just the act of you being insecured of  your own confidence.

Stupid Comment: Dimiss Densus 88 for Religion Discrimination

13 03 2010

It was that morning when I woke up and watch the news on my television. I saw a familiar guy protesting about an event that was just in, the capture of a wanted terrorist, Dulmartin.

It was the man named Abu Bakar Ba’asyir who demanded that Densus 88 team to be dismissed since they exhibit a discrimination against one particular religion (I guess what he meant was Islam). Anyway, Densus 88 is like S.W.A.T or a special force in the army that specialize in neutralizing terrorist.

So, back to the case. This protest was a reaction of terrorism cases that involve Islam which includes Bali bombing case I & II, J.W. Marriott hotel bombing, Ritz Carlton Hotel bombing, and other terrorist activities in Indonesia.

Now, one by one of these terrorist goons are being apprehended and most of them are being killed during their capture since they try to resist. The latest news was from terrorist apprehension in Pamulang, Indonesia, which resulted in a gun blazing fight between Densus 88 and wanted terrorist, Dulmartin.

However, this capture seems to be viewed differently by Abu Bakar Ba’asyir. He and his follower see this act as a discrimination against Islam since now Islam is being viewed as a religion that spreads terror. He said that killing the terrorist is against the human rights and therefore, Densus 88 has violated the very right of human survival.

My argument here is, what the heck? How does he jump to the conclusion that Densus 88 violates human rights to survive by killing terrorist on the spot? It’s not like when Densus 88 wanted to apprehend this terrorist they just shoot him on the head without asking question. They shoot down the terrorist because they resist the capture and the started to fire at the force. Imagine how dangerous the situation is if there is a passerby who got shoot by this lunatic. Are you expecting apprehending a terrorist by preaching about heaven or hell, or how God loves you, while gun blazing at your direction?

Secondly, the notion of Islam breeds terror and Densus 88 is discriminating against one religion are just false assumptions. I don’t see people with turban or jilbab are getting arrested or shoot down just because they are muslims. If they hate people who discriminate that badly, why they are not protesting against terrorism act that wanted the infidels to die. Isn’t that discrimination against different religions? I say enough of this old man stupid ranting about prejudicial narrow-minded view. This man just wants to instill instability to the fight against terrorism in Indonesia.

World AIDS Day Boycotted in Bandung — A Pathetic Attempt to Impose Islamic View Under One Nation

29 11 2009

Just got back from the department store to buy some groceries and some girls were handing out red ribbon with a small flyer “Respect yourself. Stay out of AIDS”. Wow, I forgot that World AIDS day is here and I immediately attached the ribbon on my jacket to respect the day.

When I went home and turn on the news channel on SCTV, a private TV broadcasting channel, I saw a report about the celebration of World AIDS day. In one of those report, there was a report of AIDS oration in Bandung where an Islamic force from a certain university was boycotting the World AIDS day.

They were claiming that by commemorating this day, it may end up in a permissible stigma to have free sex as long as you have a condom. They then offer the solution of an Islamic law to prevent AIDS from spreading (I’m guessing they’re offering some kind of abstinence solution to counter-spreading AIDS).

I got to say “Bravo” again for this idiocy act yet again brought by the majority religion worshippers in this nation. Banning World AIDS Day by saying that commemorating this event will lead to the rise of free sex rate which will cause AIDS to spread more? And they say it so bluntly without any hesitation or provide any clinical proof?

Well, let me tell you something, Sir. These voluntary workers of World AIDS day work their asses off to educate others about being respectful to themselves. They teaches how narcotics can be dangerous as a means of AIDS spread medium and more importantly unsecured sex to the extend of changing partners. If anything, this World AIDS day volunteer or seminar is trying to educate you to become a responsible man or woman, by promoting one partner relationship.

Also, condom is a solution to a loving partnership which one or both of them are infected with AIDS. And you are trying to ban this? The nerve of them saying that World AIDS day is a bad influence to the community. I had it with their over-zealous preach about the greatness of Islam law to be impose in Indonesia. I guess their law of polygamy and premature marry is a solution to the AIDS spread in this world (Give me a break).

Please man, we’re not leaving in a one sole religion country. We have other religion as well and isn’t it in our constitution to tolerate other religions as well?

Musa & Al-Khidir Story — How A Man Plays As God Get Away From His Crime

18 10 2009

moses-demotivational-poster-1221330337This is a story that I heard from my childhood when I still in my elementary school. I attended a quite religious school that time and everytime the Islam history session was on, they told a story about the prophets in Islam.

As you might know, Islam has 25 prophets to be remembered from Adam to Mohammed. Amongst them, Mohammed is the last prophet that nurture the Islam foundation since they believe all the teachings before him has already corrupted. Anyway, I’m getting a little zealous here so back to the topic.

The story that I want to tell you is the story about Musa or Moses in biblical term. There is this story about the meeting about Musa and another God messenger’s Al Khidir who one of his gifts is he is poured by unlimited knowledge by God.

Musa was interested in Al Khidir and he wanted to learn everything from him. When Musa met Al Khidir and told him his intention to Al Khidir, Al Khidir said “You won’t have the patience to follow me”. However, Musa keep insisting on following Al Khidir and so Al Khidir gave Musa a condition “As long as you keep silent and don’t question my actions, you can follow me. I’ll give you three chances”.

And so there goes two men on a journey to understand life. At the first village, they wanted to cross the river and they met with a fisherman and the fisherman offer a free ride to the other side. After they arrived at the other side, the fisherman went to somewehere else and after he is out of sight, Khidir pierced the boat and make a hole. Musa was shocked and cry, “Why did you make a hole in the boat?”. It was strike one and Musa had two more chance before he is expelled.

At the second stop, they met a kid and out of the blue, Khidir kill him out cold. Seeing such a horrendous event, Musa being a snobby pupil said “Why did you kill an innocent child?”. Strike two and one more till Musa got expelled. At the last stop, they encountered a house which is near collapse and suddenly Khidir fix the house. Musa decided to help him and started a chat “You know, we could get some gold for our reward fixing the house”. That’s strike three and Khidir had had it with Musa insolent behavious. He expelled him and Musa replied “Okay, I understand. But please explain me why did you do those things”.

So, Khidir explain that the reason for him to pierce the boat is to prevent a tyrannt from the other side taking the boat and rendering the village incapable to fish. Then, the reason of him killing the boy is because when the boy become an adult, he will betray his parent and become a tyrannt who will suffer many people. The third reason of why he fixed the house was there was a treasure belonging to an orphant under the house. If the villagers knew, they will take it and the orphan will let alone starving to death.

So, that is the story of Musa and Al Khidir. When I heard this story, my teacher told me that the lesson of this story is sometime you can’t comprehend a knowledge you haven’t learnt. You have to listen and obey what the people with greater knowledge told you just like what Koran said to its follower. No question or doubt whatsoever.

First of all? No question? What is this? If you want a person to learn, you have to answer his question and doubt with a reasonable explanation. Not telling them what the reason of such action will cause misinterpretation just like what the story tells us. Second, killing a child just because he will be a tyrannt someday and make people suffer? Is that a little contradiction? I thought God was letting His child to make choices in life and suddenly a guy name Khidir can unanimously judge that the kid will be a murderous tyrannt. If anything, Khidir was playing God by determining how long a human can live. Murder is a crime, especially with this particular reason.

Furthermore, is murdering the boy a solution to the problem? There’s two God’s messengger travelling and they can’t share their wisdom on the kid so the kid will become a better man someday? Frankly, those two are doing a lazy ass job by deciding that it is easier just to kill instead of giving advice. Perhaps it’s that ‘No Question’ attitude that made Khidir such an arrogant bastard.

Earthquake Cause By Insolent Faith to God — How a Friday Sermon Became a Laughing Stock

17 10 2009

god-s-computerIt was on yesterday Friday, when I attended the weekly Good Friday pray and I have to listen to a sermon before the prayer part begin. The preacher was talking about the Earthquake that happened recently in Indonesia such as the 7.6 Richter scale earthquake that happened in Padang.

“All the disaster that strucked Indonesia was because of our unfaithfulness to God. Therefore, God came by giving us a warning such as this to reprimend our action and renew our faith to God”, said the preacher. Hearing this startle me from my weekly doze off from hearing the Good Friday sermon. All of this disaster was caused by our unfaithfulness? But what about the faithful ones who got buried in the Earthquake? Must they suffered the same tragedy as those who aren’t faithful? Not to mention there are innocent children and babies who got killed during the disaster. Is this God’s way of justice?

The sermon then answer, “To those who are faithful who died in the disaster, that is just a consequence of the tragedy. Nevertheless, they will go to the Paradise and live happily there forever”.

Well, now that’s just sad. Giving a reason that the recent disaster which struck Indonesia was caused by the unfaithful people to their God is just an incoherent talk with no proof. How about Swiss, Germany, and other European nation? They consists of majorly non-muslim and so far God is giving them the time of their life with no disaster. Is God too busy bullying our nation and killing innocent children and babies instead of giving His divine message to beer drinking, weed smoking, and prostitute loving people out there?

It seems that God has trouble shooting up His magic to save innocent children from the rubble. Is that more an effective way to send a message that He existed? Anyway, I was laughing inside my head with all that sermon he gave us yesterday. And on the evening, Ujung Kulon got strucked by earthquake and all the people in the office building ran out to save their live. I guess God was angry at me since I laugh at him during the sermon.

MUI Protest Over Maria Ozawa’s Film Deal in Indonesia — A Prejudical & Hypocrite Perception of a Religious Frontier

29 09 2009

miyabi_maria_ozawa_ice_cream1The battle of religion zealousy keeps on firing in this Nation. After the stoning to death law in Aceh, now it’s the Majelis Ulama Indonesia, or a.k.a Indonesian Moslem Guru Frontier, launching the protest of a film deal “Menculik Miyabi” that involves a popular Japanese pornstar, Maria Ozawa.

As much as I hate Raditya Dhika’s artwork which involves his pretentious daily life turned into big bang media attention, this protest is without doubt a prejudical embargo on free speech and without basis.

My question is, what are they protesting? The film? I thought this is a comedy film with the least of sex attribution in it. And if it does involves dirty jokes, our local films have many titles that have already been broadcasted (e.g. Paku Kuntilanak, Mas Suka Masukin Aja, Sumpah Ini Pocong, and the list keep going on). I don’t ever heard that these films got banned. Protesting the upcoming broadcast of this new film will be a hypocritical attempt by the religious frontier.

So, the film has no sex scene in it, what about the star? Maria Ozawa is a pornstar who does dozens or hundreds of porn film. Should her title of Miss Pornstar be a generalization image of moral corruption? To give you a comparison of whether porn film is affecting the moral of one nation, let’s compare Japan and Indonesia.

Japan has tons of pornstars and millions of porn films. How’s they’re corruption perspective index? They ranked 17th in the 2007 political transparenciness while Indonesia is below 200th according to the Europe corruption watch institution. How’s the crime rate? Way below U.S and Britain with 1.3 robberies per 100,000 population, compared with 48.6 for West Germany, 65.8 for Great Britain, and 233.0 for the United States; and it experienced 1.1 murder per 100,000 population, compared with 3.9 for West Germany, 1.03 for England and Wales, and 8.7 for the United States in 2005 according to bookmice.net. The rape case? Reduces drastically from 33% in 1972 to 18% in 1995 despite the steep increase in porn availability every year according to http://www.hawaii.edu/PCSS/online_artcls/pornography/prngrphy_rape_jp.html.

So, what more delusional basis does MUI want to protest regarding this film deal involving the popular top pornstar? You tell me.

Communism & The Dilemma of a Nation Under One God in Indonesia

23 08 2009

pancasilaYou see, I’ve been aching to spit this out from my system since it’s been bugging for years. If you see in the left picture here, is the five foundation called Panacasila that builds Indonesia as a country. We are so proud of this foundation and it is constantly recited in all schools during the official ceremony every Monday and National celebration.

Well, I don’t completely detests all the content of Pancasila since 4 of 5 foundations are great. However, I do have a problem with the first foundation of Pancasila, which is “One nation under one God”.

Don’t get me wrong here. I don’t detest those people who hold dear their religion. Heck, even I’m a muslim but not very religious (I’m probably an agnostic here), but I do have trouble in understanding that by living as a citizen of Indonesia, you have to be a part of one religion. What if someone decided his an atheist? Should he be expelled from being an Indonesian just because doesn’t believe in a supreme being. If you see the 45 subroot of Pancasila (Butir Pengamalan Pancasila), you will see that 7 subroots of the first foundation of Pancasila only stated tolerance of inter-religion. There is no tolerence with person which doesn’t believe God since that first foundation only belongs to people with religion.

Truly, this condition saddens me as I recollect my knowledge of the incident which happened September 30th 1965 which doctrinize Indonesian to hate communism. It’s logical Indonesians feel this way since the pioneer party which brought communism to Indonesia, the Indonesian Comunism Party (Partai Komunis Indonesia), did a lot of damage during that week from compromising the national country to killing the generals of Indonesia army.

Since then, communism is banned in Indonesia, even the logo of communism is banned to be publically display in mass media. It’s a little hypocritcal of us isn’t it to banned a principal just because some organization did something bad to the nation? When terrorism spread and muslim people were in the notion of giving birth to terrorism, we all scream and defend ourselves that our religion teaches good and peace. How about communism? What does communism teaches us? Isn’t it teaches us same welfare for all community? Isn’t it the same as the 4th and 5th foundation of Pancasila? Aren’t we being hypocritical here?

And to lump atheists to be a part of communism and worst of all the lump them with the PKI is just detestable. They have no connection whatsoever to that particular principal and now they are being judged in every 5th grade elementary school national test as the source of chaos in Indonesia. Come on, aren’t we just the same people who deserves to be respected? Than why atheists and religious people are so being differed from one another? I think it’s time to reconsider the Pancasila to make Indonesia a better and justify to live without any prejudice to anyone’s faith.

Facebook = Haram?

26 05 2009

nofacebookThe first time I heard this issue was in the news heading in a private TV station. Muslim’s ulama are banning facebook and declared it as haram (forbidden)? Wow, now that’s a controversial story that will make a headline in most of online blog and news.

So, I tried to search about this issue in kompas online news website. Turns out, facebook was not declared as haram by the muslim’s ulama. They were warning their disciples the misuse potential in facebook such as mis-identity, propaganda, and pornography.

Therefore people, don’t get mad so fast  in accusing that Islam is banning facebook. I also heard a baseless accusation since the founder of facebook is Jewish, they are banning it from usage. So, enough with this issue and let’s get back to our usual life.

However, I got to say that the Ulama’s heat against facebook is just weird. I mean, Islam always promote silahturahmi or brotherhood with other people, right? So, why are they so against it instead of promoting it to spread Islamic view? Then again, they are not against commercial phone service which use fortune-telling as their sales point. Isn’t that mean you are believing in other than God?

Anyway, this issue is just a petty attempt in demeaning Islam by spreading propaganda that Islam is anti-freedom. So guys, be objective and don’t quickly jump into conclusion.

Conversation With a Muslim at The Sauna

8 03 2009

Okay okay, so I said that no religion talk in this blog and no lame ass diary-like post. But before you judge, this is not a post to intimidate muslims in general nor I’m attempting to disgracing someone’s religion. This is just a hilarious true story that I just had this evening.

So, I finished playing basketball with some people I just met in the club and I decided to take sometime at the sauna. I went to the men’s sauna room (obviously, not that I often delibrately mistaken for entering a women’s sauna). I went in and I found out there was a man who had already entered previously. I’m not gonna say his name, since he didn’t introduce himself, so I’ll just describe him as dark hair brown man (DHBM).

I sat down and looked at the thermostat. “Gosh, 60 degrees centrigrade” I cried. The man notice, “Say what, kid?”. Oh yeah, the man was likely to be 30-40 years olds by the way. “It’s 60 degrees, its quite hot” I replied. “Well, it’s hotter in hell…” he said.

I don’t know if it’s just me or the temperature room is just too hot, but his voice was a little pissed off. Okay, so I maybe a little sensitive, so I just ignore and laugh in irony. However, a several seconds later he starts to ask me some questions that a normal people who just met wouldn’t ask. Here’s how the conversation went:

The Man: Do you believe in hell?

Me: (Feeling a little annoyed) No.

The Man: Do you believe in God?

Me: I believe that the concept of God has put human into fear in order to follow what He has commanded in the bible. However, I don’t believe that God existed.

The Man: (Rise his voice)Well, you youngster always want to find something in a instant, aren’t you?

Me: (Feel his comment has no relationship to my comment whatsoever) Err, I guess if I believe that God existed that means that I agree that my Father can do domestic violence to his family and forgive him because he said that he does that to test our faith or he actually loves us. Because that’s what he is doing in the Middle East.

Wow, that was deep. I was actually trying to keep my mouth shut since I hate to debate, but I guess the heat in the sauna has also overcome me. Then, the man with a pissed voice then commented, “I think I’m finished. Good luck in losing your weight”.

Now he is commenting on my weight, well he has a point, I’m fat. So I just reply sincerely “Thanks” and continue on to my sauna. After 15 minutes, I take a shower and change my clothes in the toilet and I went pass the sauna room. Suprisingly, the same man who just chatted with me was in the sauna room again. What an extra mile he has done to show that he was pissed off. Anyway, so I wear my shoes to head home.

Wow, what a day. I’m sorry if my comment offended any person, but really I was just trying spoke out what’s in my mind. Again, this post is not trying to offend any religion especially muslim, I respect anybody’s faith and will not disturb them as long as they don’t disturb me. So, I’m very sorry if I don’t have the same faith as all you religius guys have. Have a nice day with your family, sincerely!
