I know I haven’t done anything in a while, so I guess I could take some time off on this boring Wednesday to post what I’d like to call a “Mood Swinger” music post.
It’s more or less like my previous post where I post some music that fits my personal feelings at the moment. Well, it’s a rainy Wednesday and I’ve got nothing better to do than to sit at home and stare at the four walls in my room for the whole day….and recently, I’ve got some unfortunate family issues I have to face currently so…I’m really not in the mood to do anything fun for the time being. I’ll perhaps post again if this mood finally shifts for the better (hope I’ll get down a Psx game review while I’m at it). For now, just let it be.

Well, hope I didn’t post this too late, even though it’s already later than I thought.
So…uhh…as you can see, I guess I jumped off my usual type of music today and gave something else in. In case you guys are wondering, no, this is just for today only (I’m probably going back to some rock music again soon so I’m not switching to vid game osts). I normally don’t post this kind of music but I think I should mix it up once in a while, y’know…well, okay, maybe not. I was listening to this OST today while being dragged on yet another shopping spree by my parents so the music got stuck in my head for the entire day.
So…here’s Gears of War 1′s OST track 01, a titular track. Honestly, if it were a game review, I would spazz about the numerous awesomeness about this game, but since it’s only just the OST, I’ll prefer the latter. The first GoW soundtrack is produced by Kevin Riepl.
In my own opinion, I just really love the OST in GoW 1 as much as I love Halo’s OST. To me, recently nowadays games may had really great gameplay but I find most good games’ music really lacks. While on the other hand, old games (on Ps1, etc etc) may have sucky gameplay but old game music was amazing (like Syphon Filter, Crash Bandicoot, Time Crisis, Spyro, etc). So congrats to those game music composers today who at least tries to make awesome soundtracks.
Anyway, enough of my random ranting and enjoy the music.

It can get pretty boring sometime when you are in a dungeon so I crank up this music to dispel my boredom. This song I guess is from Touhou series but I don’t know which one, all I know is that the song is pretty groovy.

Catherine OST and Sound Disc

So here’s the OST and Limited Sound disc from Catherine. Still composed by the same Shoji Meguro that’s is responsible for the songs in Persona series and other Shin Megami Tensei Series. So, expect colorful and catchy tunes from this. :D
I haven’t bought this game, since this is one game where my Japanese level isn’t enough to play it yet, even though some of my friends said that almost all conversation is voiced, but that doesn’t help much in the Texting part of the game. So, I’m just going to wait for the English release, and it’s still damn too expensive for my pocket.

Beat of The Day: Donten by DOES

In the conclusion of the Shinsengumi Rebellion Arc from the brilliant anime, Gintama, I would like to dedicate this post to award DOES as the band who won the beat of the day. Their song entitled “Donten” and is a very fitting song for a serious plot this time.
I also give a tip of my hat to Itou Kamotarou and Hijikata Toshiro for coming from zero to hero in this particular arc. It was an emotional ending and I nearly burst into tear (Hah, what an hiperbolism). Anyway, this particular arc story is one of the best arcs in the Gintama series.
Now, back to the Donten song. This song is a rock n’ roll song and give you the energy and the surge of action. Now, everytime I hear this song I always remember three great characters: Okita Soujiro, Hijikata Toshiro, and Itou Kamotarou. Not to be forgotten, a great battle scene between Sakata Gintoki against Bansai also makes this particular episode a blast.
So enjoy the song in the video clip. An additional note though, this song contains a collection of the Shinsengumi Rebellion Arc chapter, so for you anti-spoiler guys, you might not want to play this clip.
