This show is pretty much more like The Daily Show which is hosted by Jon Stewart. However, as an contrast of ridiculing government by making deliberate statement on how ridicoulous a person is, Stephen Colbert approach things by supporting them by acting unrealized that his comment actually ridicule the particular person.

Stephen Colbert is one of the bravest people in America. He is very bold and mask out his persona very well. He didn’t hesitate to tease the President in the 2006 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. One of his comment that I particulary think as a bold comment was “I believe that President Bush has step on many crucial factors in many important decision. By that, he has also step on us”.

Anyway, this show has received many achievements such as an Emmy in 2008. By the way, Stephen Colbert also won the 2004-2006 Emmy award as a writer in The Daily Show. This show also received The Peabody Award for Excellency in broadcasting.

Another proof of his influential persona was the battle of ranks in the iTunes website. In a certain episode, Stephen Colbert was pissed of because his album “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All” was ranked 15th in the iTunes chart while Kanye West was on 1st. Stephen Colbert was also annoyed at Kanye West comment “I will go down as down as the voice of this generation”. Then, Stephen Colbert announced “Operation Humble Kanye”, which he quote “To stop Kanye’s arrogance is with my arrogance”. He told his viewer to buy his album on iTunes exactly on December 3rd 2008 at 5 pm. Few days later, Colbert’s album catapulted to the 2nd rank while Kanye’s album dropped to 5th.
