Desktop Goodies: Saber Rainmeter

Hey guys, I have just made another skin installment for your Rainmeter application. Now, it’s Saber’s turn to serve you and tell you what music you are listening to. Quite fitting, isn’t it? The way she says “Master” to you (*Moe level increase*). Anyway, here’s a blue & red theme for you. Enjoy.

3-15-2009-8-16-51-pmSkin Name: Saber

File Size: 289 KB

Color Theme: Red & Blue

Download: https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/4sJMojeKMcmWEB

Note: You can find the Rainmeter application in my previous post. Don’t forget to extract the folder and move it to your Rainmeter skin directory. I delete the HDD meter since the box doesn’t fit. If I enlarge the box, it will overlap Saber’s Face. Happy Downloading.

  1. If you don’t mind, I’m having trouble integrating Winamp with this Rainmeter config and was wondering if you could please explain how its done.

I got the prev/stop/pause/play/next functions to work… but the ON, shuffle, repeat, and all playlist buttons don’t seem to be working.

  2. For the playlist button, you have to manually modify the .ini file for the skin and change the value of WinampList1 through WinampList4 to the directory which your playlist resides (.m3u or .pls). For On, repeat, shuffle, I don’t have any problem whatsoever, could it be you installed the winamp in a different folder other than “Program Files”?

  3. Hmm, well, I modified the .ini file with the correct directories for 2 of my playlists, refreshed the skin, but clicking on the buttons still doesn’t do anything.

Funny thing about the On button… right-clicking it closes winamp, but left-clicking it still does nothing. My winamp.exe is in “C:\Program Files\Winamp” and thats exactly where I pointed it to in the .ini file.

    Repeat and shuffle work.

And I’m using winamp v5.552 if that makes any difference.

  4. Oh, about Repeat… winamp has 2 repeat functions… Repeat All and Repeat Track. The Repeat button on the skin only toggles Repeat All. I was wondering if there was a way to implement a right-click option to make it toggle Repeat Track.

  5. Sorry for the triple post, but I apologize for not mentioning how much I love this skin! ^^ Saber is one of my favorite VN/anime females and I’d do just about anything to get this to work properly on my computer.

  6. That sure is weird. I’ve opened my Saber skin, and all the buttons work perfectly. And as you have said, repeat button can only do repeat all only. Unfortunately, I can’t get the documentation for rainmeter, so programming the skin is rather intuitive. Sorry, for not helping much :(

  7. Well, after much tinkering and laboring, I managed to make it work, albeit via a very convoluted manner. >_<

Instead of telling the ON button to directly execute "C:\Program Files\Winamp\winamp.exe", I merely made it launch a shortcut I created in my documents folder, whose target was "C:\Program Files\Winamp\winamp.exe".

Basically, instead of telling it to execute winamp, I told it to launch a shorcut whose target is winamp. I don't know why it works, but boy am I glad it does! =D

All I did was define "WinampFolder" to be the directory of where my shortcut is, and then instead of making [WaON] execute "#WinampFolder#winamp.exe", I changed it to "#WinampFolder#winamp.lnk", since .lnk is apparently the filetype for shortcuts. I got the playlist buttons to work in the same way. Now, they execute "#WinampFolder#winamp.lnk #WinampList1#", "#WinampFolder#winamp.lnk #WinampList2#", etc.

I felt the need to share this in case anyone else was in despair over not getting the buttons to work.

  9. All the Winamp functions on this rainmeter is working fine, but there is one problem that the second day i turn on my computer (and the following days), Saber still says “I have served you for 0 days” .Is there something wrong with this?

Ah yes, Saber is always soooo AWESOME! :)
